Volunteer with us!
We could not do what we do without our generous volunteers. With Green Mountain Habitat for Humanity, you have the opportunity to support your local community, right here in Northwest Vermont. Because of the help of people like you, whole neighborhoods improve and completely transform. Through this transformation, families achieve the strength, stability and independence they need to build a better life.
Learn how you can join us as a volunteer below.
Construction Volunteers
Habitat homes are built by incoming partner families and community volunteers. Everyone is welcome, skilled or unskilled. Our build sites are judgment-free learning zones — come ask questions, gain new skills and make new friends! Our construction supervisor will teach you what you need to know and provide you with all the necessary tools, safety equipment, and training.
ReStore Volunteers
You don’t have to lift a hammer to help. Donations are coming in daily, and we need your help sorting, stocking, and organizing. No retail experience is necessary, just a willingness to have fun!
Opportunities include:
- Unloading donations
- Stocking shelves
- Testing electronics
- Pricing inventory
and more!
Community Service Volunteers
Volunteers with required community service hours for school or those with mandated court hours have additional steps for hour verification.
Reach out to our Volunteer Manager for more information.

Family Support and Selection Volunteers
The Family Support Team Member is committed to carrying out the stated purpose of the committee and Green Mountain Habitat for Humanity. The position’s primary importance is to guide the approved Partner Families by empowering them through the Homeownership program. The Family Support Committee is an all-volunteer committee that helps families become successful partners and homeowners with Habitat.
Feed a Volunteer, Feed a Family
Own a restaurant or run a kitchen? Donate meals to our hardworking volunteers! Individuals can support our “Lunch Fund” as well!
Our volunteers work hard on our build sites and in our restores all year round, the least we can do is feed them! Our “Feed a Volunteer, Feed a Family program” is a great way for local restaurants to give back while also doing what they do best, make great food! This program allows for meals to be brought right on-site for the volunteers to enjoy, including the partner families who are working towards their sweat equity.
Reach out to our Volunteer Manager to donate food, or donate to our “Lunch Fund” that directly helps alleviate the costs of feeding those who give back so much!
